Tonight he was the man of the match as Roma welcomed Juventus. With two well-taken goals either side of the half-time break Vincenzo Iaquinta did the initial damage as the Bianconeri eventually ran out 4-1 winners, putting some degree of pressure on leaders Inter.

"I am happy about my performance and the team's, on a difficult ground like Roma's," he said after the match to Sky. "This is a great victory and we have to continue like this. The whole team wants to fight for a common goal.

"The coach told us that the first defenders had to be the strikers, we tried to do what he told us.

"We are looking at the standings, but we have to think about ourselves, not about Inter. We have to win for us."

He also had a few words for his former coach Luciano Spalletti, now with the Giallorossi: "I worked very well with him, he's the one who allowed me to break through."

Juventus are now just four points below Inter, who welcome Reggina to the San Siro tomorrow afternoon.
