Giorgio ChielliniGiorgio Chiellini's surgery to his nose has been deemed a 'success' by Juventus, and he could be back in action as soon as Wednesday.

The defender injured his nose after clashing with Bologna's Francisco Valliani during the Bianconeri's 4-1 win over their opponents from Emilia Romagna.

Chiellini needed an operation and went in for surgery this morning at the Chivasso hospital. He has now emerged from the theatre, and he will be ready to return in two days.

A statement on the club's official website reads:
"Chiellini had to go in for surgery to reduce the break on the bones in his nose at Chivasso hospital."The surgery lasted less than thirty minutes and it was carried out by doctor Libero Tubino."The intervention was a perfect success and the player will be discharged in a few hours. It is possible that the player will train on Wednesday on a no contact basis.

"It's good news for the Bianconeri as they clash with Roma later this week, and the Italian international could be there if he recovers in time.
