Italian media have reported this morning that Juventus have showed an interest in Napoli midfielder Daniele Mannini, and could launch a bid to secure his services in the summer.

The 25-year-old, who has also been associated with Inter in the past, joined Napoli from Brescia in January 2008 for a fee of around €6.5 million, and his agent Davide Lippi has insisted that his client has no intention of leaving Campania for the time being.

“I have a good rapport with Juve director of sport Alessio Secco,” the son of Italy coach Marcello Lippi told the Roma newspaper.

“If these rumours were true, he would have already called me. I think it’s just paper talk and Daniele loves it in Naples.”

Mannini was handed a one-year drug ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) last January for turning up late to a doping test, but returned to action against Milan a fortnight ago after the CAS decided to re-examine the case.
