Real Madrid are ready to make a move for Werder Bremen ace Diego and ruin Juventus' plans for him in the process.

The Bianconeri are keen on the Brazilian play-maker and they are preparing to meet with the player's agents in order to thrash out a deal. Sportmediaset.it claims Diego's entourage are expected to meet with Bianconeri chiefs within the next week. A four-year deal worth €4million per season is being mooted.

However, the plans to land Diego could be scuppered by Spanish giants Real Madrid. The report implies Los Merengues are prepared to play a high stakes game and out-bid the Italians in an attempt to get their noses in front.

Werder are asking €25 million for their man. Juventus are not prepared to go beyond that amount, but Real are. It's here where the deal becomes complicated as the Germans are likely to accept the higher proposition coming from Spain.

In Juve's favour is the decision which ultimately rests with Diego. Voices surrounding the deal suggest the player has a penchant for the Old Lady, but Alessio Secco's refusal to match Madrid may cost Juve.
