Luciano Spalletti is favourite to come in and replace Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri if he is kicked out of Vinovo this summer, according to a report.

Sportmediaset.it claims the doom and gloom for the former Chelsea man will not get any better. The report suggests directors at the club are beginning to have their doubts as to whether Ranieri is the man to lead them to silverware in the future and the Roma coach is in line to take over with the Bianconeri.

Juventus have gone another year without a major trophy. Their only hope of silverware this season is in the Coppa Italia, but they lost the first-leg of the semi-final 2-1 to Lazio. In any case, voices surrounding the Turin-based club seem convinced there will be wholesale changes on the bench.

Champions League failure and playing second fiddle to Inter are factors that have led the club to start thinking about next season. Giovanni Cobolli Gigli revealed Alessio Secco and Jean-Claude Blanc would be working to strengthen the squad within the next two weeks. Spalletti has not enjoyed a perfect season by any means at Roma, leading to speculation of a potential swap deal between the clubs.
