Juventus were temporarily only four points behind Inter in the league on Saturday night. Then the Beneamata won their home game against Reggina and normal service was resumed.

However, Bianconeri defender Nicola Legrottaglie has said he does not believe the championship race is over, despite there being only nine games left.

“Juve and I fell from grace together, and I am glad we are coming back together too,” he told Il Corriere dello Sport, “Inter are doing brilliantly but I have hope we can win the title.

“There have been times when the gap has been bigger than seven points and the team in second place won in the end.”

The Old Lady’s boss, Claudio Ranieri added, “We have been doing superbly for the past two seasons. Internationally, we lack a little experience and we are waiting for some of our youngsters to mature, but I believe what we have done is nothing short of miraculous.”

The club's president, Cobolli Gigli also spoke, focusing on the match between the two top sides, “Inter are very strong,” he said, “But in a one off game anything can happen.

He concluded by making a point about Pavel Nedved, “Sooner or later we must respect his choices, but if he decides to play on that would be great.”
