Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has undergone successful surgery on his nose and could be back in action as soon as Wednesday.
The Azzurri stopper broke his nose when he collided with Bologna midfielder Francesco Valiani last Saturday in the Old Lady's 4-1 win.
The problem was serious enough to warrant an operation, which took place at the Chivasso Hospital this morning.
“Chiellini had to go in for surgery to reduce the break on the bones in his nose,” a statement from Juventus reads.“The procedure lasted less than 30 minutes and was carried out by doctor Libero Tubino.“The operation was a complete success and the player will be discharged in a few hours.
“It is possible that Chiellini will train on Wednesday on a no-contact basis.”
Chiellini could be available for Claudio Ranieri for Juve's crunch match against Roma this weekend.
